The Zeeland Clean Water Plant Expansion was a large project that allowed us to truly demonstrate our capabilities. The project consisted of two primary tanks, six aeration tanks, two final clarifiers, ultraviolet disinfection system, RAS blower building, laboratory building addition, two aerobic digesters, odor control system, piping, pumps and site work. We served as the general contractor for this project. The plant expansion was concrete intensive requiring attention to detail and continuous due diligence.
With added tanks and upgraded equipment, the Zeeland Clean Water Plant is capable of treating an average of 2.1 million gallons a day (MGD) before it flows into the Noordeloos Creek. This means that the plant can increase operations while still ensuring that the right amount of excess nutrients are removed.
